Transcription: The skin around the stoma is first cleaned, rinsed and patted dry. The paper cover over the adhesive protector is removed. A paste may be used if needed to smooth out an irregular surface. The bag is applied so that it empties easily and does not interfere with clothing. Hypoallergenic tape may be used if necessary. For an open-ended drainage pouch, the open end is folded up and secured with a clamp. Used disposable bags and gloves are disposed of properly.
